So cool
School is insane. Being a junior/senior is ridiculous. Not because I have a lot of work or anything, but because finding motivation to do anything is super difficult.
Anyway, our record label is coming along smoothly. I'll update the links and stuff on this website soon enough. You can check it out for now at www.pancakeshouserecords.com.
Alright, sleep time.

Show on Saturday
Our annual Breakfest summer shindig is this Saturday. Should be fun. Looking forward to it.
I'm really truly considering vlogging again. I'm really not much of a fan of vlogs, but lately a few have grown on me, and I do miss uploading things. It's probably more of the latter. I guess that's healthy.
I'm thinking of cutting my own hair when I wake up this morning. Never tried doing that. I guess we'll see how that goes.
Right.

Nerd time
Harry Potter was fantastic, although that is not what this post is about at all.
I've been starving for a Lord of the Rings marathon. Extended editions, of course. It's been about a year since I watched any of them, and I've been getting back into the series pretty hardcore lately. Hell, I've even spent money on Lord of the Rings trading cards, shamelessly, in order to revive the game with a few of my friends back home. We are such unbelievable winners.
Actually, hell, I'll go back to Harry Potter. The eighth movie did a fantastic job of adapting the book to screen, although I do have some gripes. First, seeing as it is the shortest movie in the series, there's really no excuse for leaving out anything they did (which, luckily wasn't much). I still feel like Deathly Hallows would've flowed better if both movies were just made as one four and a half hour movie or something along those lines, even if it did warrant an intermission. If Lawrence of Arabia could pull off that length without being boring in the slightest, why not Harry Potter's most action-packed adventure? Due to the separation, we got kind of a reverse Kill Bill scenario, with all of the story being placed into the first movie, and all the action in the second. It works, but not as well as one really long and cohesive film would have.
Second, the Deathly Hallows themselves. God, they really glossed over that one. It's like the sixth movie all over again. If the title of the movie is barely referenced in the movie itself, something is wrong.
Then there's the epilogue. Ugh. God. They really should've just left that out.
Still, there are plenty of positives. The movie is funny throughout, even in parts you wouldn't expect to be humorous. The acting is also much much better than in previous entries (it's essentially the same as the last film, but yeah). Also, the Snape stuff was really well done. Bravo.
On an unrelated but equally nerdy note, Game of Thrones is extraordinary. The miniseries was pretty good, although the added sex scenes in every episode really were just pointless. Utterly pointless. Still, high quality stuff. I'm halfway through the novel, and it's fantastic. Highly recommended A+ numba one.
I really wish Legos weren't so goddamn expensive.

Working on everything
So, I'll probably spend this weekend clearing out a garage in order to rehearse for our recording sessions this summer. Should be fun.
The album's shaping up well. I just redid the track listing, and it's much stronger than I even thought it could be. We've had one practice so far, but it was an incredibly productive one. So, here's to a well-spent summer.

In the midst of recording
With the Aquarium Club, that is. We have yet to have a band practice with the actual band, but that should change next week.
I finally have begun to really practice my German skills. I need to refresh myself on two semester's worth of college German (so, essentially, three years of high school German) in order to start taking an upper-division German course next semester. I'm starting to reconsider this decision. Maybe I should just take a 100-level class...
California's great by the way. It's cloudy right now, but honestly, after two weeks of sunshine, I kind of missed that.
The studio's looking fantastic. Sammy's been doing a hell of a job. One of my cohorts in Aquarium Club, Peter, is working on making a ribbon mic, and potentially finding a way to make a decent-quality vinyl lathe. Exciting times, we're living in.
